First of all, as already mentioned in previously, you should know that on Instagram it is possible to both restrict and block comments. The first option allows you to filter specific comments and serves, for example, to avoid spam or offensive comments or to limit the interactions of some specific users. Blocking comments, on the other hand, involves the possibility of preventing all or only some people from commenting on posts.
These options differ even in the methods of execution: as I will explain in the next chapters, in fact, the limitation of comments can be performed from all devices: smartphones and tablets, via the Instagram app for Android (downloadable from the Play Store or alternative stores) or for iPhone (downloadable from the App Store), and from PC, via the official Instagram site or application for Windows 10.

How to limit comments on Instagram
I start this tutorial by explaining how to limit comments on Instagram using the social network app for smartphones and PCs. Find all the details below.
Android and iPhone
To restrict comments on Instagram from smartphone , first start the app of the well-known photographic social network through its icon located on the home screen and / or in the drawer of your device, and log in to your account.
Then, press on the icon of the little man or on the thumbnail of your profile located in the bottom menu and tap on the menu icon located in the upper right corner. Now, in the screen that is shown to you, click on the items Settings> Privacy> Comments .
At this point, the first option to limit comments is the one you can see by tapping on the Allow comments by item: through this feature you can allow comments only to some people, such as your followers and / or to the people you follow .
Also, if you wish, you can move to ON the lever relating to the possibility of activating filters that are used to hide offensive comments . You can also activate the manual filter , in order to filter the most popular words or in order to specify potentially offensive words or expressions (separated by commas), which will automatically hidden.
You can also restrict existing comments under your published posts. To do this, locate the post in question in your profile and tap on the cartoon icon to see all the comments present. Then, tap on the (…) icon and, in the menu that is shown to you, click on the item Manage comments . Finally, check the comment to limit and press the limit button, to apply the restriction.
If, on the other hand, you intend to proceed from PC , first connect to the official Instagram site and log in to your account.
At this point , press on the icon of the little man or on the thumbnail of your profile located in the upper right corner and, in the menu that is shown to you, click on the Settings item.
Now, go to the Privacy and security section, click on the item Change the comments settings and use the text field that is shown to you to apply filters , by typing specific keywords or specific terms which, if present, will automatically hide the comments containing them. Finally, confirm the limitation in question by pressing the Send button and that’s it.
In addition, you can also check the use predefined keywords option, to activate an automatic filter that hides comments from your posts that contain keywords reported as spam or offensive.
How to block comments on Instagram
In case you want to block comments on Instagram you have to act through the smartphone app of the well-known photographic social network .
To get started, then, launch the app in question and log into your account. Now, press on the icon of the little man or on the thumbnail of your profile located in the menu below, in order to reach your profile screen.
Then locate the post you published and press the (…) icon. Then tap the Disable comments button, to prevent everyone from being able to comment on your posts on Instagram.
In case, however, you were wondering how to block someone’s comments on Instagram you have to proceed differently. To do this, press the menu icon located at the top of your profile screen and press the Settings item. At this point, in the screen that is shown to you, reach the Privacy> Comments section.
