Why join Facebook

Before entering your personal details and creating your profile, you may be wondering why you should subscribe to this Social . This is a legitimate question that we all asked ourselves before joining.

Facebook is a secure, free, and easy-to-use platform. Available in Italy for now more than 10 years . On Facebook it is possible to create posts, find old friends, insert photos and tag friends and subscribe to thematic groups, follow famous people and much more.

With over 2 billion active users, Facebook represents the largest network in the world to make new friends and find old acquaintances and relatives.

Despite the fact that over the years the appeal of Facebook has dropped considerably and people are starting to prefer the Zuckerberg’s other social network, namely Instagram, to date there are still many users who actively use the platform.

Facebook, in fact, allows us, for free, to get in touch with friends and relatives, follow the fan pages of our favorite artists, stay updated on the news and much more.

This is a great way to pass the time, but don’t forget that it is a really powerful tool and as such you need to know its potential risks well. In another guide, however, we saw together how to carry out the procedure incognito.

Create an email to join Facebook

Like any website that requires registration, Facebook also needs you to confirm your identity. Indeed, being a social network, the registration procedure is clearly very strict.

You could, in fact, simulate being another person and this would be punishable by law. That’s why the first thing we need to be able to sign up for Facebook is an email address. Surely you already have one, if you don’t have any anyway, don’t worry. Creating an e-mail account is very simple, as well as free.

To do this, just go to one of the many providers that provide this feature: ranging from the famous Google GMail, to Libero’s e-mails , Virgilio, Tiscali etc. You can choose the one you prefer. Very often, moreover, the email address is already provided to you by your ADSL provider.

In any case, I would like to advise you to create a Google email. This allows you to access the many services created by “Big G” such as Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Play Store and many others. Furthermore, it is one of the most capacious emails, considering that already in the Free version you have 15 Giga available to store your data.

Now that we have our email address at hand, we’re ready to write to us. But a moment: you must also have a valid phone number. I assume that you have it!

The registration procedure

We have everything you need to register on the social network, we just have to connect us to facebook.com. To do this, just write it in the address bar of our browser or, if we prefer, search for the word “Facebook” on Google. The first search result is the right one!

Here are the steps you will need to take to create your Facebook account:

  • Go to the official Facebook website
  • Click on Create a new account
  • Fill in the required fields: Name, Surname, E-mail address, gender and date of birth
  • Enter a password
  • Click on Subscribe

I urge you to be very careful when filling in the Password field. In fact, Facebook is not immune to hacker attacks. So choose a strong password , which is not your date of birth or the name of your pet to be clear! Better still if it consists of letters, numbers and alternating lowercase / uppercase letters.

I also recommend that you enter a real name , otherwise Facebook may decide to ban you from the platform afterwards some checks. At this point, all you have to do is finish the registration process by confirming your email address.

You may have provided a fake email address, which is why Facebook, like many other sites, uses a type confirmation opt-in.

After clicking on subscribe, in fact, you will receive an email, within which you will find a link to click to confirm so that you are really the owner. If the email doesn’t arrive immediately, don’t worry. Sometimes it may take longer than expected.

It can also happen that your email ends up in spam, which is why I recommend that you also check your junk mail . Once the email is confirmed, all you have to do is start using your new social network!

Add friends on Facebook

As confirmed by the creator himself, Facebook is the best way there is to keep in touch with longtime friends.

Doing so is very simple, just add them to your circles. At the top you will find a search box, simply type the name and surname of a person you would like to add to friends.

Once you have found the person you are looking for, just enter their profile and click on “send a friend request “. Now you just have to wait for the other person to accept and, from that moment, you will be in contact.

You will be able to see their photos, comment on their posts and, of course, chat together using the Messenger app.

Conclusions

As we have seen, signing up on Facebook is really simple. The use of a social network, however, is by no means a game.

Always remember that that is your online life and, even if you can restrict access through the privacy, using a social network you are exposed in various ways even in real life.

When you do a job interview, for example, probably the recruiter , in addition to seeing your resume , it will also sift through your social accounts to try to understand what person is in front of you. This is why you must also take care of your profile on Linkedin.

So pay close attention to the way you use your social accounts.
